Plants
For Your Office

|
| Adding
foliage plants to your office environment can
create a softening, soothing work environment.
Plants can even motivate and help keep the air
clean. With a little bit of know-how, you can
even get them to thrive in a sometimes 'Plant
Hostile' environment.
Your first step is plant selection. The following
is a list of fail-safe plant varieties that will
tolerate almost any environment. |
Dracena,
spp.
A favorite specimen plant, either variegated
or straight green. The variegated varieties
tend to enjoy medium to bright indirect
light. The straight green varieties like
'Janet Craig' do well in low light. Water
freely but wait and let them dry out between
waterings. Fertilize with a liquid fertilizer
every 2 weeks between May-August. |

Monstera
-
These plants are easy to grow in bright to
medium light. Keep big leaves clean from dust
with a moist towel. Again, let them dry out
between waterings. This plant is very durable
for an office location. |
| Spathiphyllum
-
An easy to care for plant that displays beautiful,
glossy green leaves. They can tolerate very
low light, but prefer medium light to flower.
Flowers are pure white spikes. Water until
evenly moist and let dry out between waterings.
Fertilize every 3 weeks throughout the year. |

Schefflera
-
A very tough and durable foliage plant and
one of my favorites for an office environment.
It has large, bushy, deep green leaves and
is easy to take care of. Pinch new growth
to keep contained and busy. Fertilize during
growing season April-June. |
